How do I move past and deal with my mom's immaturity and indirect rejection?
I am 25, married and have 2 kids. My dad died when I was 5, while in process of trying to legally take me from my mom, and he obviously knew what he was doing. My mom eventually married for the first time when I was 15 to a man who DID not want kid, sits onthe couch, bellows for her to bring him food, watches tv nonstop, has over 2,000 movies, and uses curse words instead of normal language for EVERYTHING. Before I got old enough to move out, My mom would get verbally attacked and I never knew if he was going to hit her. He is around 400 lbs and he threaten to knock the shit out of me. BUT he was never in the wrong, even according to my mom, who was his enabler. She always just remembered what i had done, like the reasonn he got so mad at me was because I wanted 2 friends to spend the night instead of the allowed 1, even though he was working nights, but never remembers WHAT he would say and how far he would take it. She’s like that stupid fish off ‘finding nemo’ who is ditzy and annoying. Now when it comes to her, she gossips about me to anyone willing to listen. I have a strong personalty, was homecoming queen and always popular, except at home. It didn’t matter how many a’s i got, i was just a ‘bitch’. Now that im grown and should have moved on, i just can’t move on because I want a mom. I want someone to talk to about kid questions, but she has no maternal instincts. I want someone who doesnt gossip about me, but she does. She is all I ever had, my dad died and I never had any siblings. My huband is great, but its like when a parent doesnt love you right, its hard to care if anyone else does. I just don’t know how to handle the cards i’ve been dealt. I have bad luck it seems, a best friend of mine last year disowned me becuase he husband hit on me really insanely bad and I of course told her because I am a true freind and wanted him to get some counseling for ‘why’ he was doing that. It hurts really bad that she disowned me, even though i know its painful for her, but we were friends for ten years. I just don’t know how to deal with NOT having parents, when my mom is alive and well and not only is bad for me, but still tries to call and chat about her dumb part time job or her dog’s pooping and peeing habits, but doesnt ask aboutme or my family. I know it sounds clear cut, like stay away from her. but its how do i deal with ME, i want a dad so bad, never had one since I was 5 then I just slowly lost my mom over the years until she got toxic to me. How does someone deal wtih such a loss, when you are sooo family oriented and family is all that matters?

Okay right off the bat it is clear you already have another life. I think you should cut your mother out of your life as hard as that is. We cannot pick our parents but we can choose how to deal with them and sometimes some people are not meant to be parents including your mother (no offense). You need to make it clear to her that you will not allow her to effect you or to give her the chance to effect your children. After you do that you really should seek therapy. You need some help sorting out how to handle someone like that. It is also clear that you are letting your problems from the past deeply effect your problems of today. I am not saying that what has happened with your best friend is not a bad thing but you are taking it even harder because of the rejection your mom gave you. Unfortunately people come and go, even those close to you so the smart thing to do is to keep those you love and adore close and seek help for yourself to not go over the edge and lose yourself and your family.

how do you enjoy the full moon?
I wrap my kids up in blankets outside and make up moon stories. hilarious when they go ..yeah right dad!

My dad would wake me up with come see the moon and tell me tales of sputnik and the man on the moon and how people used to think it was actually made out of cheese. Now i teach my kids those stories and thanks to nightskygirl’s telescope expertise i ordered a couple of 6 inch made for kids orion telescopes and teach them about the craters of the moon.

I told them Abbott & Costello are still on Mars and they believed me!

Full Moon is the night which i called "Lucky Night"
Cause it has enough light that can protect us from the dark, but they say that when it is full moon there are monsters, but i don’t believe it.

In the 'Superman' documentary, all living characters of the genre are interviewed except Tom Welling. Why?
In the documentary, "Look, up in the sky!: The amazing story of Superman", all living characters involved with the genre are interviewed except Tom Welling - who is the star of TV’s hit show, ‘Smallville’. Tom Welling has been a major contribution to the genre, and is a major celebrity still living. Why was he not involved? Did he refuse, or was he ignored? Or did other schedules conflict?

that is a pretty glaring omission. I haven’t saw it. was this the same show I saw on a&e a few months ago narrated by kevin spacey? it seems like there were 2 shows like that, one on a&e the other on discovery channel and I’m pretty sure I saw tom welling in one of them.
surely he wouldn’t refuse, and it wouldn’t take that long to get some clips so schedule conflict should be out. maybe he wasn’t because technically he isn’t superman yet.
but I’m sure I have saw him on some superman/superhero doc where he was talking about meeting christoper reeve in that one episode and his(tom’s) part in the grand scheme of things.
I’ll have to rent it

 shaney | Dec 11, 2006

Because he is not yet technically Superman. His character is Clark Kent. Until he puts on the red tights, he’s in a whole different world

Women who poison their husbands to death?
Far more men then women are arrested and convicted for murdering their spouse or significant other. But women also murder their spouses. Do you think they are more likely to get away with it? I think women who murder are far more cunning then men. They often use poison or some non violent (i.e. bloody) means of committing the crime. And when they are caught, their sentences are often far less than men receive for a similar crime. I saw an episode of forensic files where one white woman only did FIVE YEARS for poisoning her husband to death.

http://www.glennsacks.com/domestic_viole nce_a_2.htm :

Husbands dont murder their wives significantly more than wives murder their husbands. A 1994 Department of Justice study analyzed 10,000 cases and found that women make up over 40 percent of those charged in familial murders. And because women who murder their husbands tend to use less detectable or traceable methods–such as poisoning (which are often ruled "heart attacks") and hiring others to do the killing (which usually aren’t counted as "murders by wives" in official crime statistics), these murders are far less likely to be noticed than murders by men, which are usually committed with guns. The fact is alot of these murders are never even ruled homicides and the women get away scott free. Most of my family believes my maternal grandmother poisined her husband to death but the cause of death was ruled as cancer related and no autopsy was done.

heres a list of just a few women who killed their husbands:

Pamela Smart
Betty Broderick
Kristin Rossu
Clara Harris
Lynn Turner - twice! One her husband the other a boyfriend
Larissa Schuster
Velma Barfield
Dorthea Puente
Madeleine Smith
Yvonne Chevallier
Nancy Kissel

So what is your question about the subject? I just see a bunch of names and facts.
A H | Feb 07, 2010

.Is there a question in there somewhere?
BabeHart | Feb 07, 2010

I’m not reading all that crud. I may have considered poisoning mine if he was a Colts fan.
Kiss This! GOOOO Saints!!! | Feb 07, 2010

yeah thats why unlike some of these dumb gullible guys out here I dont trust any women fully
J P | Feb 07, 2010

Women who poison their husbands is sufficient. "To death" is redundant.

Women lack the physical strength to beat a man to death, and kill themselves in a similar fashion. They tend to take pills rather than shoot themselves. Most women aren’t too comfortable with a gun.

Clara Harris ran over her husband with a car. Twice. So I guess that doesn’t support your premise very well.

Anyway, do you have a question?
ouragon | Feb 07, 2010

I agree, there are probably more women who kill their husbands then the other way around. Women are sneaky cunning and coniving and can be very cold and calculating, I can tell a heartless woman from a genuine one though and I keep them at a distance. Its also sad how women (especially white women) get so little time for these murders because they are often non-violent and the justice system is just lienient on white women. I was taught as a child to never trust a b*tch and I live by that, not every woman is a b*tch though but a good precentage are, they will turn on you at the drop of a hat.
One Deep | Feb 07, 2010

Just make sure your name doesn’t make the list
Sincere | Feb 07, 2010

If you notice most of the women who do this are white. I guarantee if you look at the statistics you will see its mostly greedy evil white women murdering their husbands for the insurance money which is usually alot of money. The men also kill their wives for the insurance money. This is far less prominent with other races, so ask yourself, what is it about white women that make them so heartless?
